Giorgi Kalandarishvili
Solo Oboist, Artistic Director
Giorgi Kalandarishvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, and began learning piano at the age of six at the "Wano Sarajishvili" Music School for Gifted Children. At eleven, he switched to the oboe. By the age of 13, he won the Piccoli Mozart Festival in Monte Carlo and became a prize winner at Jugend musiziert.
His studies took him to Prof. Ingo Goritzki at the Stuttgart State University of Music and Performing Arts, where he earned his Artistic Diploma with highest honors. He then continued his training at the University of Music and Theatre Munich in the soloist class of Prof. François Leleux, which he successfully completed. During this time, he was already engaged with the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra.
As a solo oboist, he is a welcome guest at renowned orchestras such as the Staatstheater Kassel, the Dortmund Philharmonic, the Iceland National Symphony Orchestra Reykjavik, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the Essen Philharmonic, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, and the German Radio Philharmonic Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern.
In 2024, he co-founded the Ars ad Mundum Ensemble with violinist Anna Kaczmarek-Kalandarishvili, which has already been heard at major concert halls and festivals, including the Bagno Konzertgalerie and the Summerwinds Münsterland Festival.
Since 2018, he has been Solo Oboist of the Münster Symphony Orchestra and has led the oboe class at the Münster Music Academy since 2021/22. He is also an artist for Marigaux oboes.
